Maa Bhangayani Temple Haripurdhar

Himachal Pradesh is called Devbhoomi. Gods are present in every village here. People have unshakable faith and devotion in Dev Shakti. Apart from Shiv Shakti, Brahma, Vishnu, Naag, Siddha and Peer prophets are being worshipped since ancient times. To protect one’s family, livestock, agriculture, flora etc., there is a custom of believing in many village deities and worshipping them with proper rituals. Wherever you look, from small peaks to inaccessible mountains of this picturesque state, innumerable temples of gods and goddesses, lights of faith, are visible.

There is a small town named Haripurdhar, about 100 km from Nahan, the headquarter of Sirmaur district, where Haripur Fort was built by Maharaj Hari Prakash of Sirmaur State during the princely era. Goddess Maa Bhangyani, who removes sorrows, is present in person at a distance of about 2 km from the town. It is believed that by merely taking the name of this Shakti Swaroopa Devi, she grants desired results and fulfills the wishes of the devotees.

Due to her immediate decision between good and bad, she is also known as the Goddess of Justice. There is also a popular belief that the Goddess always supports the truth and gives very harsh punishment to the person who does untruth and misdeed, so everyone is afraid of this Goddess’s love for justice and is afraid of making a false appeal to her even by mistake.
